Évora Ticket - Monumento

The Noble House of Rua de Burgos hosts the headquarters of the Alentejo’s Regional Directorate for Culture. The building houses several important historical structures, notably part of the so-called Cerca Velha, a large late-Roman wall, which was built over the ruins of an ancient Roman domus, dating from the late 1^st or early 2^nd century AD. In the Manueline period, the noble house grows, and, during the following centuries, the building turns decisively to the outside, assuming the presence along Burgos Street, visible today, with its 18^th-century stonework windows.
